Dr. David Castle is a Professor in the School of Public Administration at the University of Victoria, Faculty of Social Sciences. His research focuses on science, technology, and innovation policy with expertise in open science, data governance, and biodiversity conservation.
- Current Researcher in Residence, Office of the Chief Science Advisor Canada
- Chair, Scientific Committee of the International Science Council's World Data System (WDS)
Research Interests: Socio-economic aspects of biodiversity, natural capital accounting, access and benefit-sharing of genetic resources, FAIR data standards, research security, and science-policy interfaces.
