David Buley is an Associate Professor of Music Education in the Faculty of Education at Memorial University in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. He holds graduate degrees in choral conducting, sacred music, liturgical studies, and musicology from institutions including the University of Kings’ College, St. Mary’s University, Westminster Choir College, and Drew University. His expertise spans music education, community-based initiatives, and Dalcroze Eurhythmics.

Research interests include community music partnerships, liturgical music, and innovative pedagogical approaches. He leads the a cappella ensemble Octatonic Decadence and actively engages in community projects like the Lullaby Project-NL and SSHRC-funded Community Music in Coastal Labrador. He is a Dalcroze Eurhythmics License candidate and will present a keynote at the 2023 International Conference on Dalcroze Studies.

Advising/Grants: Involved in SSHRC-funded projects and serves on the Board of Directors for Strong Harbour Strings and the Bruneau Center for Excellence in Choral Music. Formerly held roles as Music Director for multiple choirs and institutions across Canada.
Labs/Teams: Active in community music initiatives, including the HMP-Phoenix Garden Project and collaborations with the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.
