David Blaschke

Prof. David Blaschke is a distinguished professor at the Institute for Theoretical Physics, University of Wroclaw, specializing in nuclear physics, astrophysics, and quantum field theory. He serves as Editor in Chief of the European Physical Journal A (2018-2025) and maintains an active research program with numerous international collaborations including COST Actions MP1304 "NewCompStar," CA15213 "THOR," and CA16214 "PHAROS."

His research focuses on the intersection of nuclear physics and astrophysics, particularly on compact stars, dense matter, and quantum field theory applications. Blaschke has made significant contributions to understanding the equation of state for neutron stars, pair production in strong fields, and the physics of heavy-ion collisions. His work bridges theoretical concepts with observational astrophysics, exploring matter under extreme conditions found in compact stellar objects.

Blaschke's recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on compact star physics, with particular attention to neutron star mergers, the equation of state for dense matter, and quantum kinetic approaches to particle production. These works span both theoretical developments and connections to observational data from gravitational wave detectors and electromagnetic observations.

He coordinates the Falling Walls Lab Wroclaw (2016-present) and has organized numerous international workshops on topics ranging from dense matter to quantum field theory applications, maintaining strong collaborations with institutions in Russia, Germany, and Armenia.
