David Audretsch is a Distinguished Professor and Ameritech Chair of Economic Development at Indiana University's Paul H. O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA), where he directs the Institute for Development Strategies. He concurrently holds honorary professorships at WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management (Germany) and University of Klagenfurt (Austria).
His research focuses on entrepreneurship, innovation, globalization, and economic policy, examining how government policies influence entrepreneurial ecosystems and global competitiveness. Audretsch has pioneered work on the relationship between knowledge spillovers, firm formation, and regional development, with significant contributions to understanding small business dynamics in globalized economies.
