David Aldridge

Professor David Aldridge is a faculty member in the Department of Zoology at the University of Cambridge. He serves as the Dawson College Professor of Zoology, Director of Studies in Biological Natural Sciences, and Wine Steward at St. Catharine's College. His research focuses on applied freshwater ecology, particularly the conservation of rare species and threatened ecosystems, biology and control of invasive species, and sustainable remediation of degraded waterbodies.

He collaborates extensively with the water industry, government agencies, and NGOs, and his work often bridges fundamental biological questions with real-world applications. He is the director and co-founder of BioBullets Ltd., a company developing environmentally-friendly methods for controlling aquatic pests. His current projects span Europe, North America, South America, Bangladesh, and China.
