Daven Henze

Daven Henze is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. He holds a B.S. from the University of Washington (2001), and M.S. and Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology (2004, 2007). His research focuses on aerosols, air quality, climatology, atmospheric chemistry, adjoint sensitivity analysis, and data assimilation techniques. He teaches courses such as Air Pollution Control, Inverse Methods, and Numerical Methods.

His work bridges environmental engineering and atmospheric science, emphasizing the development of advanced models for pollutant transport and emission source identification. Key contributions include the GEOS-Chem adjoint model and applications of remote sensing data for emission estimation.
