Dave Watson

Dave Watson is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for multiple undergraduate programs at Norwich University of the Arts, specializing in Graphic Communication, User Experience Design, and Motion Graphics. His roles include leading BA (Hons) Graphic Design, BA (Hons) Graphic Communication, BSc (Hons) User Experience Design, and BA (Hons) Design for Publishing courses since 2019. Previously, he taught at Goldsmiths, University of London, focusing on animation, interaction design, and experiential design.

His research explores play, learning, narrative, and representation through technology as a cultural form. Current projects include LiDAR scanning in media production, digital education practices for children, and feminist cyborg representations in animation. Notable works include the BAFTA-nominated animated short The Demon’s Head and the mythologically inspired Shiver.

Watson has presented at academic conferences such as the John Beacham Teaching Conference, discussing online learning platforms and visual storytelling. He is affiliated with research groups like NUA’s Human Interfaces, Extended Reality (XR), and Expanded Arts Learning Environment groups. His professional experience spans digital media production since 2005, including roles at agencies like CTVC and ChannelFlip Media.
