Dave Nevin

Dave Nevin is an Associate Professor and Instructor in the Cybersecurity Program at Oregon State University’s College of Engineering. He leads the Oregon Research & Teaching Security Operations Center (ORTSOC), which trains cybersecurity professionals and provides regional operational security services. He previously served as Oregon State University’s first full-time Chief Information Security Officer from 2012–2018.

Research Interests: His work focuses on

• policy development
• incident response frameworks
• security operations
• computer forensics
• disaster recovery planning

and business continuity strategies. He actively contributes to advancing cybersecurity practices in higher education through leadership roles in the Higher Education Information Security Council (HEISC).
