Daryn H. David, PhD, PCC is an Assistant Professor at Yale School of Medicine's Child Study Center and serves as Director for Leadership Development and Coaching Initiatives in the Offices of Academic & Professional Development (OAPD) and Collaborative Excellence (OCE). She holds a PhD in Psychology from Yale University and an AB in Social Studies from Harvard University, complemented by an AAAS Science Policy Fellowship at NIH.
Her research focuses on leadership development in academic medicine, psychological aspects of professional growth, and mental health service delivery for vulnerable populations. Key interests include coaching methodologies, women's leadership advancement, faculty development, and trauma-informed care frameworks.
David's recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on transformative leadership training in academic medicine, particularly through coaching approaches for early-career faculty. Earlier research examined mental health interventions for homeless populations and parenting challenges in high-risk contexts, utilizing developmental psychology frameworks.
