Professor Daryl Brown is a faculty member in the Department of English at the University of North Alabama (UNA), affiliated with the College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering. His research focuses on Civil Rights history in Birmingham, Alabama, encompassing both fiction and nonfiction projects. He teaches courses such as First-Year Composition, American Literature, and Advanced Creative Writing modules in Fiction/Drama and Poetry/Nonfiction.
Education: M.F.A. in English from Indiana University.
Research/Teaching Interests: Genres in Fiction, Protest Writing, and literature reflecting social justice themes. He is associated with the Restorative Justice Lab, part of the English department’s initiatives.
