Darryl Falzarano

Dr. Darryl Falzarano is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Veterinary Microbiology at the University of Saskatchewan. His research focuses on developing vaccines and antiviral strategies for emerging viruses, particularly MERS-CoV. He holds a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology from the University of Manitoba and conducted postdoctoral work at Rocky Mountain Laboratories, NIAID.

Research interests include understanding viral adaptations in different host species and developing One Health solutions to combat zoonotic diseases. Current projects involve creating MERS-CoV vaccines for camels using an alpaca model and studying host-virus interactions.
