Darrin Hicks is a Professor of Communication Studies and Director of Debate at the University of Denver, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. He also serves as an Affiliate Faculty member in Conflict Resolution.
- Education: Ph.D. in Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University (1995)
His research focuses on community collaboration, political argumentation, freedom of speech, affect theory, and academic debate. Specializations include collaboration, debate, and rhetoric.
Professional affiliations include the American Forensics Association, International Society for the Study of Argumentation, and National Communication Association. He joined the department in 1993 and has contributed extensively to academic debate programs.
