Darren Wallace

Darren P. Wallace, PhD is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He holds a primary appointment in the Department of Internal Medicine and a secondary appointment in Cell Biology and Physiology. He is affiliated with the Jared Grantham Kidney Institute, where he serves as Director of the Kansas PKD Research and Translation Core Center (U54) and the PKD Biomarkers and Biomaterials Core.

Research Focus:

• Investigating the cellular mechanisms driving Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD), including aberrant cell proliferation and cyst fluid accumulation via transepithelial Cl secretion.
• Studying pathways involved in renal inflammation, extracellular matrix remodeling, and fibrosis in ADPKD.

• Director of the Kansas PKD Research and Translation Core Center (U54), focusing on ADPKD research and translational studies.
• Director of the PKD Biomarkers and Biomaterials Core, supporting biomarker discovery and biomaterials development for ADPKD.
