Dr Darren Sharpe is an Associate Professor in Social Justice Studies and Deputy Director of the Institute for Connected Communities (ICC) at the University of East London (UEL). He specializes in participatory research with children, young people, and vulnerable adults to shape public care policy, with a focus on reducing social inequalities and improving health equity.

Research Interests: Darren’s work spans participatory action research, implementation science, and co-production in community health. He investigates asset-based approaches to mental health, diabetes care, and trauma-informed initiatives for youth and older adults.
