Dariusz Pachocki

Dariusz Pachocki is Professor in the Department of Textology and Editing at the Institute of Literary Studies, Faculty of Humanities, John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. His academic role involves advanced philological research, editorial supervision, and teaching focused on Polish literary heritage reconstruction.

His research interests prioritize Textology, Literary Editing, and Critical Editions within Polish Literature, specializing in genetic editing of manuscripts, diaries, and correspondence from the 20th century. Key areas include censorship interference in literary works, authorial revision processes, and editorial methodologies for post-war Polish writers like Edward Stachura and Józef Łobodowski.

Recent publications (2014-2023) demonstrate consistent focus on critical editions of Polish literary figures, with dominant themes in manuscript analysis, translation challenges, and censorship impacts. His work exhibits philological rigor through genetic criticism applied to diaries, letters, and unpublished fragments, particularly emphasizing Stachura's and Łobodowski's textual legacies.

Pachocki has promoted numerous diploma theses (bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral) on editorial projects for Polish authors, including over 20 thesis topics from 2010-2025. He managed a National Science Centre-funded project on Leopold Tyrmand's manuscripts and organized national conferences including the Editors' Workshop and Young Editors' Workshop.
