Dariusz Leśnikowski

Dariusz Leśnikowski serves as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Contemporary Culture, University of Lodz. He concurrently holds prominent cultural roles as Director of the Municipal Art Gallery in Łódź and Artistic Director of the Pstrąg-Grupa '80' Theatre since 1980, with prior membership in the University Council of the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź for the 2021-2024 term.

His research spans Cultural Studies, Visual Arts, Theatre, Literature, Art Criticism, and Curatorial Studies. Leśnikowski has authored two significant books: Reading Art: Attitudes – Interpretations (Amcor Rentsch Gallery, Łódź 2006) and The Second Decade (Amcor Gallery, Łódź 2016), edited numerous publications in arts and humanities, and produced approximately 150 critical texts for gallery catalogs across Poland.

His scholarly work appears in major journals including Dialog, Opcje (cultural quarterly), Fa-Art (literary quarterly), Text & Cover, Art & Business, Meetings with Monuments, Tygiel Kultury, Zeszyty ASP w Łodzi, Études théâtrales Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium), Pijpelogische Kring Nederland (Netherlands), and Art History & Criticism (Lithuania).

Leśnikowski maintains a longstanding collaboration with Amcor Gallery in Łódź while actively directing theatre productions since 1980. As an actor since 1978, he has personally created scripts, set designs, and musical accompaniment for performances across Poland, Lithuania, Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
