Dariusch Afroukhte

Dariusch Afroukhte is a Lecturer and Scientific Employee at the Department of Nursing and Management within the Faculty of Life Sciences at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg). He has teaching assignments at both HAW Hamburg and HFH Hamburger Fernhochschule, where he teaches courses in Social Policy Foundations, Organizational Management, and Health and Prevention.

His research interests focus on health and social policy, management of healthcare organizations, health promotion and prevention, occupational health management, and specialized care for people with intellectual disabilities. His work particularly emphasizes case management approaches and nursing expertise as prevention strategies for vulnerable populations.

His recent publications (2023-2024) demonstrate a strong focus on intellectual disability care, with multiple presentations at international conferences including the IASSIDD Congress in Chicago and the International Council of Nurses Network Conference in Aberdeen. His research consistently addresses themes of health literacy, patient participation, and advanced nursing practice interventions for people with intellectual disabilities.

Afroukhte serves as the deputy representative of the Department Council for Nursing and Management. His academic background includes a Master of Arts in Management of Organizations and Personnel in Healthcare (2018-2020) and a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (2011-2014).

He is currently working as a Scientific Employee in the research project "Case Management and Nursing Expertise as a Prevention Approach for Adults with Intellectual Disability (FaPP-MgB)" at HAW Hamburg since January 2022, following previous experience in international planning at the Osteopathy School Germany GmbH from 2015 to 2021.
