Darius Rudis

Darius Rudis is an Associate Professor at the Jazz Department of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA) and a faculty member at Vilniaus kolegija / University of Applied Sciences since 2004. He also joined the staff of Vilnius Balys Dvarionas Music School in 2019.

As a graduate of LMTA (Master’s in Music and Education) and the Prince Claus Conservatoire in the Netherlands, Rudis bridges academic training with professional performance experience. He has been a prominent figure in Lithuania’s jazz and pop scenes since 1999, recognized as one of the country’s foremost drummers.

Research and pedagogical contributions include his 2018 methodological guide Improve Your Drumming Skills, reflecting his expertise in percussion pedagogy and ensemble dynamics. His discography spans 22 CD recordings, underscoring his practical engagement with jazz and contemporary music.

Rudis’s teaching career spans two decades, focusing on applied music education and performance techniques. He continues to balance academic responsibilities with active involvement in the music industry, both domestically and internationally.
