Dario Pumo is a Researcher (RTD-b, SSD:ICAR/02) at the Department of Engineering, University of Palermo's Polytechnic School since 2018. His academic appointments include membership in the PhD committee D084 (Chemical, Environmental, Biomedical, Hydraulic, and Materials Engineering) and the Interclass Council of Degree Courses in Environmental and Land Engineering.
He holds a summa cum laude degree in Civil Engineering (Hydraulics) and a PhD in Hydraulic Engineering, both from the University of Palermo. His international experience includes a 2009 research fellowship at Princeton University funded by NASA's WaterSCAPES project.

As an educator, he teaches Hydroinformatics and supports multiple ICAR/02 discipline courses. He has supervised numerous graduate theses and teaches Artificial Neural Networks for PhD programs. His research group maintains prestigious national and international collaborations, with over 35 ISI publications in leading scientific journals. He serves on editorial boards of international journals and participates as reviewer and speaker at major conferences.
