Professor Daren B.H. Cline is a faculty member in the Department of Statistics at Texas A&M University, serving as Associate Department Head for Operations. His research focuses on applied probability, stochastic processes, nonlinear time series analysis, and random network dynamics. He holds a Ph.D. from Colorado State University (1983) under advisors P.J. Brockwell and S.I. Resnick. His academic lineage traces back to prominent mathematicians like Gauss and Hilbert.
Current teaching responsibilities include Statistics 610 (Theory of Statistics I), 630 (Overview of Mathematical Statistics), and upcoming courses in 2025. Research interests span dynamic random networks optimization, heavy-tailed distributions in risk theory, and Fourier transform analysis for discontinuous functions. He collaborates across disciplines with computer science and structural engineering groups.
Key contributions include stability analysis of nonlinear time series models, Tauberian theorems, and subexponential distribution theory. Over 40 peer-reviewed publications demonstrate expertise in stochastic processes, network science, and statistical methodology. His work bridges theoretical probability with practical applications in engineering and computer systems.
