Danyal Khan

Danyal Khan is a Lecturer in Law at the Department of Law and Criminology, Royal Holloway, University of London, joining in 2025. He previously served as a Senior Lecturer at Liverpool Hope University, where he held key academic leadership roles including Year 1 Lead, PGR Coordinator, and University Senate member. A practicing Solicitor in England and Wales, Dr. Khan brings over 15 years of experience in legal practice, consultancy, and higher education.

Dr. Khan's research centers on international human rights law, particularly the right to health, access to medicines, and the intersection of Shariah law with human rights frameworks. He also works on intellectual property rights and the creative economy, especially in developing contexts like Pakistan. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health, education, and justice.

His recent publications show a strong focus on healthcare access in Pakistan, particularly for vulnerable populations such as women, adolescents, and transgender individuals. These works combine legal analysis with public health policy, emphasizing equity, constitutional rights, and social justice.

Dr. Khan is actively involved in student mentoring and legal education, having led pro bono legal aid clinics and trained students in applied legal research. He led a funded research project on 'IPRs and the Creative Economy in Pakistan' with Professor Sir Robin Jacob at UCL (2022–23), demonstrating significant grant and project leadership. His academic service includes Senate membership and curriculum coordination.
