Danture Wickramasinghe

Professor Danture Wickramasinghe is a distinguished academic and Chair in Accounting at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. His career spans over 42 years, with prior roles including Chair in Management Accounting at Hull University Business School and Dean of the Faculty of Management & Finance at the University of Colombo. He holds honorary professorships in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

His research focuses on accounting, governance, and accountability in the Global South, particularly examining management accounting controls, development programs, and sustainability. Notable contributions include over 50 publications in top journals like Accounting, Organizations and Society and Critical Perspectives on Accounting, and co-authoring landmark books such as Management Accounting Change: Approaches and Perspectives.

Professor Wickramasinghe currently supervises PhD students at Glasgow on topics like governance and sustainability. He collaborates internationally with institutions like Paris Dauphine University and leads projects on SDG implementation and public sector accountability with organizations like the World Bank. His editorial roles include Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal and Critical Perspectives on Accounting.
