Dante Mozie is an Instructor of Journalism at South Carolina State University's Department of English & Communication, teaching courses in journalism history, theory, media writing, and editing. He is also a Ph.D. candidate at the University of South Carolina School of Journalism and Mass Communications.

Mozie's research focuses on media history and entertainment studies, with a particular emphasis on minority media. His work explores alternative media narratives, the role of collegiate student newspapers in social justice movements, and cultural representations in journalism.
His recent publications analyze intersections of hip-hop music and social justice movements (2022), and historical coverage of civil rights events like the Orangeburg Massacre (2021). These works span disciplines including media studies, cultural criticism, and historical documentation.
