Danny Yagan

Danny Yagan is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley, where he teaches courses in Public Economics and related fields. He is affiliated with the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), serves as Associate Director of the Berkeley Burch Center for Tax Policy and Public Finance, and co-directs the Taxation and Inequality Initiative at the Berkeley Opportunity Lab. From 2021 to 2022, he held the position of Chief Economist at the White House Office of Management and Budget.

• Educated at Harvard University, earning a BA summa cum laude and a PhD in Economics.

His research focuses on the intersection of public economics and labor markets, including:

• Taxes and investment
• Income inequality
• Employment dynamics during recessions
