Danny Simpson is a Lecturer in Cultural Food Systems and Manager of the Hulings Rice Food Center at Northland College. He holds a BS from Northland College, majoring in Biology with minors in Geology and Environmental Studies, alongside interdisciplinary interests in gender studies. His work focuses on food production, food justice, sustainability, and community engagement through hands-on projects with students.
Education: BS in Biology, Northland College.
Research interests include exploring the intersection of environmental science, social equity, and food systems through practical initiatives like gardening and culinary education. He emphasizes collaboration with students to address local and global challenges.
Community involvement includes serving as board secretary for the Ashland/Bayfield County Wisconsin Farmers Union chapter. The Hulings Rice Food Center serves as a hub for applied learning and community outreach, reflecting his dedication to sustainability and student empowerment.
