Danny O’Rourke-DiCarlo is a Lecturer in Public Policy and Criminology at York University’s School of Public Policy and Administration (SPPA), part of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies. He holds a Long-Service Teaching Appointment (LSTA), reflecting his sustained commitment to education. His research critically examines democratic theory through law and deliberative politics, with a focus on technology’s impact on policing and judicial decision-making in contemporary contexts. He has published on policing ethics and advised the YU Criminological Review.
Teaching excellence is central to his career, evidenced by teaching awards and a dedication to classroom engagement. His work bridges constitutional/criminal law administration with modern Canadian political dynamics, emphasizing practical and theoretical intersections.
