Daniël Bossen

Daniël Bossen serves as an Associate Professor of eHealth & Exercise Behavior at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) and as a Senior Lecturer in the Interprofessional Paramedical Care (IPZ) program. His research focuses on the intersection of exercise, behavioral influence, and technology, particularly in aging populations and musculoskeletal conditions. He is affiliated with the Exercise Therapy – Daily Movement! research group and the SPRONG program, which links healthy behavior with technological interventions.

• Postdoctoral: NIVEL and Amsterdam UMC

His research explores technology-driven behavior change for fall prevention in elderly populations, exercise therapy for osteoarthritis, and digital support for preterm infant caregivers. Current work involves systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and mixed-methods studies.

Recent publications highlight eHealth platforms, gait analysis in aging, and blended interventions for chronic conditions. His work has received multiple scientific awards, including the BITE-IT prize and MiB onderzoek van het jaar.

Daniël supervises student theses and contributes to interprofessional education. He also holds a secondary role as Program Manager Vital Movement at the Amsterdam Institute of Sport Science.
