Danilo Garcia is a Senior Associate Professor in Psychology at Linköping University's Department of Behavioural Sciences and Learning. He is a founder and leading researcher of the International Network for Well-Being, focusing on well-being, personality, neuropsychiatric disorders, and health interventions. His work integrates artificial intelligence (AI) for analyzing life narratives and validating psychological measures through Quantitative Semantics Test Theory (QuSTT).
He holds postdoctoral training from Washington University School of Medicine (USA) and the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), specializing in genetics of personality and resilience. As Head of the Promotion of Health and Innovation (PHI) Lab, he leads interdisciplinary research on public health innovations, collaborating with global institutions like Yale University and Keio University. His visiting professorships include University of Fortaleza (Brazil) and Sapienza University of Rome (Italy).
Key research interests include biopsychosocial models of well-being, personality frameworks (e.g., Temperament and Character Inventory), and AI applications in mental health. His work spans interventions for vulnerable populations (e.g., asylum seekers, nurses) and explores topics like parasocial relationships via media analysis.
