Danielle Harris

Dr. Danielle Harris is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of St Andrews, affiliated with the Sea Mammal Research Unit and the Centre for Research into Ecological & Environmental Modelling. Her research focuses on using acoustic data to monitor wildlife populations, particularly marine mammals, emphasizing methods for estimating their abundance. She supervises PhD student Gabrielle Arrieta and has contributed to projects like the Southern Ocean Hydrophone Network (SOHN). Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to life below water and responsible consumption. Key collaborations include studies on fin whales and acoustic monitoring in marine environments.
