Danielle Auldist is a Lecturer at Federation University Australia’s Institute of Innovation, Science and Sustainability (IISS), specializing in animal science and sustainability. She holds a PhD from Massey University (2003), Master of Agricultural Science (1995), and Bachelor of Agricultural Science (1988) from La Trobe University.
Her research focuses on lactation physiology, ruminant nutrition, and sustainable agricultural practices. Notable projects include investigations into mammary epithelial cell DNA synthesis during lactation and the nutritional management of dairy cows and sows. She has contributed to peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Animal Science and Australian Journal of Experimental Agriculture.
Professionally, she serves as Director of the Board of Management at Phillip Island Nature Parks and Executive Officer of the Australian Association of Ruminant Nutrition. Her teaching spans animal management, veterinary science, and environmental sustainability.
Her career includes 11 years as CEO of a Gippsland dairy industry nonprofit, consultancy work on soil/water quality projects, and corporate governance roles. She is affiliated with the Australian Institute of Company Directors and alumni networks of her universities.
