Daniele Parisi is an Assistant Professor in Rheology of Complex Polymeric Systems at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Groningen. His research integrates polymer physics, colloidal science, and rheology to engineer novel materials with applications in sustainability and energy storage.
- PhD in Materials Science and Technology (2019), University of Crete (COLLDENSE MSCA network)
- MSc in Chemical Engineering, University of Palermo (2015)
Parisi's work focuses on linking molecular polymer properties to macroscopic rheological behavior, with expertise in in-situ spectroscopy (birefringence, Raman) and soft matter mechanics. Recent studies include:
- Bio-based superabsorbent polymers (Green Chemistry 2025)
- Self-healing electrolytes for lithium batteries (Journal of Energy Storage 2025)
- Thermo-magnetic soft robots (Journal of Materials Chemistry B 2024)
His research aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to plastic recycling and green chemistry. Awards include the HORIZON2020 - ITN - MSCA - EJD (2023). Teaching responsibilities include Advanced Polymer Processing (MSc) and Fluid Dynamics (BSc).
