Daniela Vidart is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Connecticut's Department of Economics within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on macroeconomics, labor markets, economic history, and development, combining quantitative methods with historical data to analyze human capital accumulation and its impacts on economic growth and labor outcomes.
Education includes a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of California San Diego (2020 and 2016, respectively), and a B.A. in Economics (first in class) from Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia (2014). She has received notable awards such as the Grillo Family Award for Excellence in Research (2022-2023) and the Clive Granger Research Fellowship (2019).
Her research interests emphasize understanding mechanisms linking human capital, technological change, and labor market dynamics. Recent work explores electrification's impact on fertility, gendered labor participation trends, and the economics of on-the-job training.
