Prof Daniela Sime is a Professor of Youth, Migration and Social Justice and Vice Dean for Research at the University of Strathclyde's Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. Her work focuses on social justice, migration, youth citizenship, and inequalities, with a particular emphasis on marginalized groups such as Roma communities, LGBTQ+ youth, and Eastern European migrants. She has led numerous UKRI-funded projects, including studies on post-Brexit EU youth transitions, mental health for marginalized young men, and pandemic impacts on migrant women.
Education:
- PhD in Education, University of Stirling (2004)
- BA in English and Romanian Studies, University of Oradea (1998)
Research Interests: Her work explores migration, youth identity, poverty, and policy-relevant research. Current projects include GEN-Migra (gender and migration post-pandemic), Men-Minds (mental health for marginalized young men), and post-Brexit EU youth citizenship pathways.

- Higher Education Academy Fellowship (2010)
- Member of Royal Society of Edinburgh's Young Academy (2015–present)
- British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship (2016–2018)
Advising & Grants: Supervised 7 PhD students and secured funding from ESRC, MRC, and Scottish Government. Her grants total over £multi-million and focus on co-producing evidence-based policy.
External Contributions: Serves on ESRC Peer Review College and advises international organizations. Active in UN SDGs related to education and social justice.
