Daniela SUTEU

Daniela SUTEU is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Environmental Protection and Management at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi. With over three decades of academic experience, she has progressed from Preparator (1991-1994) to Assistant (1994-1999), Senior Lecturer (1999-2012), and currently Lecturer since 2012. She teaches multiple courses including Biotechnologies in Environmental Protection, Food Product Quality, Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Marketing, and Business Management at both undergraduate and master's levels.

Her educational background includes a degree in Industrial Chemistry from the Politehnica University of Iasi (1991), a PhD in Chemistry from Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi (1998), and an MBA in Management and Business Administration from CETEX, Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi (2005-2007).

Daniela SUTEU's research focuses on dye sorption from aqueous environments, separation procedures, product quality, university management aspects, and solid waste management and valorization. Her work bridges environmental engineering, chemical engineering, and applications in food science and dermatocosmetics. She has made significant contributions to biosorption technologies using various waste materials as biosorbents for pollutant removal from wastewater.

Her recent publications demonstrate a strategic shift toward interdisciplinary research, particularly in dermatocosmetic applications of natural compounds and sustainable removal of pharmaceutical residues. The articles show a progression from traditional environmental engineering topics toward more specialized applications in cosmetic science and sustainable technologies, with a strong emphasis on valorizing waste materials for environmental and commercial purposes.

She has led or participated in 15 national/international research projects, demonstrating strong grant acquisition capabilities.

Daniela SUTEU has been actively involved in developing teaching materials, with 7 published courses, 9 laboratory guides, and 1 problem collection. She has also developed online course materials for several disciplines. Her work extends to environmental management applications, particularly in waste valorization and sustainable technologies for pollutant removal from aqueous media.
