Daniela Russo

Daniela Russo is a permanent Researcher at the Italian National Research Council (CNR) within the IOM Institut, operating from the Grenoble-based Operative Group. She serves as a key member of the INSIDE@ILL platform at the Institute Laue Langevin (ILL), supporting Italian neutron science access. Her career spans international institutions including Université Claude Bernard Lyon1, Freie University Berlin, ANSTO, UC Berkeley, and University of Florence.

Her research centers on bio-molecular structure and dynamics, with emphasis on:

• Protein-Polymer conjugates and polymer biocompatibility
• Protein folding/unfolding under high-pressure conditions
• Photosynthetic protein dynamics for biosensor applications
• Nano-confinement effects (CNT) on biomolecules
• Hydration water properties at hydrophilic/hydrophobic interfaces

Russo employs advanced neutron/X-ray scattering, high-pressure techniques, and biophysical methods through the INSIDE@ILL platform. Her work bridges fundamental biophysics with materials science applications, particularly in biosensor development and understanding biomolecular interactions under extreme conditions.
