Daniela Pollich

Prof. Dr. Daniela Pollich is a Professor of Police Sciences (Criminology, Sociology) at the Hochschule für Polizei und öffentliche Verwaltung Nordrhein-Westfalen (HSPV NRW), currently based at the Duisburg campus. She teaches within the Police Sciences department and leads research at the intersection of criminology, sociology, and police practice.

Her research interests include criminology, sociology of crime, police science, violence against the homeless, sexual violence, victimology, geographic profiling, and empirical social research methods. She emphasizes the practical application of sociological and criminological research in police training and operations.

Her recent publications focus on sexual violence, false allegations, police stress, right-wing extremist memes, and investigative practices. The articles reveal a consistent trend in using empirical methods—particularly file analysis, victim surveys, and qualitative interviews—to understand crime patterns and improve police response. Her work often addresses methodological rigor and the societal context of criminal behavior.
