Daniela Haarhuis is a Professor of Human Rights and Constitutional Law at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences since 2015. She co-founded the Research Group Law-Psychiatry-Psychology and leads two university-funded projects on human rights in psychiatry.
- Current Research: Human Rights in Psychiatry, Human Rights and Digitalization, European Refugee Policy, Terrorism Prevention
- Key Collaborations: Harvard Kennedy School, United Nations, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung
Research Trends: Recent publications focus on human rights intersections with mental health (2023), refugee conventions (2021), and security policy paradoxes (2020). Articles address legal frameworks for urban multilateralism, Islamic law in European courts, and PTSD in deportation cases.
