Daniel Zielinski serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife under the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources at Michigan State University. Additionally, he works as a Computational Engineer and Principal Engineer/Scientist at the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, where he leads the bi-directional selective fish passage (FishPass) project.
- Current research focuses on computational modeling and experimental technology integration
- Collaboration with multiple agency partners in Traverse City, MI
Research Interests: Exploiting computational resources and experimental technology to study environmental stimuli's impact on physical and behavioral responses in aquatic organisms. Key areas include selective fish passage, aquatic biota dynamics, and environmental engineering.
Labs & Teams: Actively involved in the FishPass facility construction and research coordination, working with interdisciplinary teams from federal agencies and academic institutions.
