Daniel Tetteroo is an Assistant Professor of Physical Rehabilitation at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), co-founder of Picoo BV (a startup producing interactive toys), and leader of the Future Everyday Health squad within the Industrial Design Department. His work bridges human-computer interaction (HCI), healthcare technology design, and participatory methodologies. Tetteroo emphasizes end-user development, playful interaction, and community-driven innovation.
Academically, he holds a BSc in Computer Science (University of Twente, 2008) and MSc in Human Media Interaction (2010). After postgraduate engineering roles and a PhD on rehabilitation technology (2015), he joined TU/e in 2017. His research explores qualitative user studies, health technology personalization, and cultures of participation in collaborative design.
Key roles include Faculty Council chair, board member of the Centre for Unusual Collaborations, and member of the Eindhoven Young Academy of Engineers. His interdisciplinary work spans robotics in healthcare, AI democratization, and fostering cross-disciplinary academic partnerships.
Notable projects include the TagTrainer rehabilitation system, the Mimo Pillow for neonatal comfort, and the Picoo interactive gaming platform.
