Daniel Reichart

Daniel Reichart is an Emmy Noether Group Leader at the Gene Center and affiliated with the Department of Cardiology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. His research bridges cardiovascular medicine and genomics, focusing on gene editing and single-cell methodologies to study heart disease.

• Education: Studied Medicine at the University of Rostock (2007-2014), with clinical rotations in the U.S., Germany, and South Africa.

Research Focus: Dr. Reichart’s work investigates how pathogenic gene mutations lead to heart failure, utilizing single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq) to analyze cellular heterogeneity in cardiac tissue. His lab explores CRISPR-based therapies for cardiovascular diseases, emphasizing base and prime editing in post-mitotic cells.
