His research focuses on social and environmental accounting, accountability, superannuation, socially responsible investment, and accounting education. As a member of A-CSEAR (Australasian Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research), his work critically examines corporate accountability frameworks and sustainability initiatives within pluralist societies. Recent publications analyze accountability regimes in water pricing, university-community engagement paradoxes, and the impact of SLAPPs on public discourse.
Dan's scholarly output reveals strong thematic consistency across disciplines including sociology, environmental policy, and law, with recurring emphasis on Australia's regional contexts and corporate governance challenges. His interdisciplinary approach bridges accounting theory with social movement studies and environmental justice frameworks.
