Daniel McClymonds is a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Pittsburgh’s Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on contentious politics, urban development, and social inequality in Pittsburgh’s 20th-century history, particularly urban renewal and de-industrialization. He earned his PhD from the University of Pittsburgh in 2024.

Teaching highlights include courses like Political Sociology and Wealth and Power. He has also mentored students and served as a research assistant for Dr. John Logan. McClymonds co-edits the American Sociological Association’s Critical Mass newsletter and actively presents at conferences on urban sociology and social movements.
