Daniel Maspoch

Daniel Maspoch is an ICREA Professor and heads the Supramolecular Nanochemistry and Materials Group at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2). His research focuses on pioneering strategies like Clip-off Chemistry to design advanced materials, including metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), and supramolecular systems. These innovations target applications in drug delivery, water purification, gas storage, and environmental remediation.

His work spans:

• Materials Chemistry: Synthesis of porous frameworks, aerogels, and biocomposites.
• Nanotechnology: Development of MOF-based sensors, catalysts, and drug carriers.
• Energy & Environment: COF electrodes for supercapacitors and MOFs for pollutant capture.

Maspoch has received prestigious awards including the Hermanos Elhuyar - Hans Goldschmidt Lecture Award (2024) and the Jaume I Prize for New Technologies (2023). He leads a team specializing in reticular chemistry and nanomaterial assembly.
