Daniel Maser serves as an Assistant Professor of Physics, Astronomy and Geophysics at Connecticut College, where he joined in 2019. He teaches PHY 107 and PHY 108 while maintaining active membership in the Optical Society of America and American Physical Society.
His academic credentials include a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, followed by M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Research Expertise: Dr. Maser specializes in nonlinear optics, fiber lasers, laser spectroscopy, and precision measurement. His postdoctoral work involved precision measurements of heavy atoms (indium and lead) to test fundamental physics through wavefunction calculations. His doctoral research focused on developing broadband mid-infrared fiber laser sources for telecommunications applications and atmospheric trace gas detection systems.
