Dr. Daniel Mandur Thomaz is a Senior Lecturer in Brazilian and Latin American Studies at King’s College London, Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures. He holds a DPhil in Modern Languages from Oxford and MA/BA in History from UERJ. A Fellow of King's Brazil Institute, Higher Education Academy, and Royal Historical Society, his work bridges history, media, and cultural studies.

His research explores propaganda-art intersections, transnational media networks, and decolonial methodologies. Key projects include BBC Latin American Service during WWII, Alan Fisher’s Cold War photography, and Antonio Callado’s radio dramas. Publications span books on Callado’s scripts and articles on media history, decolonization, and cultural diplomacy.
Recent articles analyze US Cold War propaganda spectacles (2025), WWII BBC radio dramas (2023), and democratic transition art (2014). Teaching includes cultural methodologies and Brazilian history. Collaborations with FGV CPDOC and BBC Archives highlight his interdisciplinary approach.
