Daniel Lisowski is an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, affiliated with the School of Education's Theatre Technology MFA program. He also serves as Head of the Theatre Technology MFA program. Previously, he worked as Head of Electrical Design at Fisher Technical Services (2007-2009) and held roles at Chicago Scenic Studios, Hudson Scenic Studio, and ZFX Flying Effects. His professional expertise bridges academia and industry, focusing on automation and control systems for live entertainment.

- BS in Theatre & Drama, University of Wisconsin
- MFA in Technical Design and Production, Yale School of Drama
Research/Practice Interests: Specializes in advanced automation controls for international entertainment projects, including Cirque du Soleil ZED™, Macau City of Dreams’ Bubble Show, and Spider-man: Turn Off the Dark. Active in industry standards through membership in USITT and PLASA’s Rigging Working Group.

Additional Work: Designs and manages large-scale events like Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2011’s “Flightpath.” Balances teaching, administrative leadership, and consulting on major entertainment automation projects globally.
