معرفی
Daniel Liesner is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research in Kiel, Germany, since 2025. He was previously a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Biology in Tübingen, Germany (2021–2025). His research focuses on thermal adaptation mechanisms in brown algae, population dynamics, and trait plasticity in marine ecosystems.
Education:
- Doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.) from the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research, and the University of Bremen, Germany (2017–2020).
- Master of Science in Marine Biology from the University of Rostock, Germany (2014–2017).
- Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Rostock, Germany (2011–2014).
Research Interests: Dr. Liesner investigates how kelp species (Laminaria digitata, Undaria pinnatifida) adapt to climate change through physiological adjustments, transcriptomic responses, and developmental biology. His work includes studying maternal control mechanisms, thermal performance across life stages, and latitudinal adaptation patterns.
Publication Trends: His research spans marine ecology, phycology, and climate resilience, with recent work focusing on kelp transcriptomics (2025), developmental pathways (2025), and cell wall dynamics (2024). Earlier studies (2022–2015) analyze thermal stress, gametogenesis, and population genetics in Arctic and Baltic Sea species.
