Daniel Lee Riconda

Dr. Daniel Lee Riconda is a Professor and Program Director of the Genetic Counseling Program at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. He holds academic appointments in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics. His roles include leading educational initiatives in genetic counseling and advancing clinical genetics research.

Dr. Riconda obtained his MS from Sarah Lawrence College (1988) and BS in Biochemistry from SUNY Stony Brook (1985). He is Certified Genetic Counselor by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) and has served in leadership roles, including NSGC Board of Directors (2015-2017) and Chair of ABGC's Accreditation Committee (2004-2007). He has contributed to professional organizations like the Florida March of Dimes and Birth Defects Registry.

His research focuses on cancer genetic counseling, clinical genetics, and educational advocacy. His publications span prenatal diagnosis, genetic disorders, and healthcare training strategies. He is affiliated with Baylor’s clinical and research programs, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration.
