Dr. Daniel L. Kaufman is a Professor in the Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA. His research focuses on immunotherapeutics for immune-mediated disorders, particularly type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and neuroinflammation associated with long COVID. He has developed GABA receptor agonists as anti-inflammatory therapeutics and demonstrated their efficacy in preclinical models of autoimmune diseases and SARS-CoV-2 infection.
