Daniel Kong is a Senior Lecturer at Monash University's Department of Civil Engineering within the Malaysia School of Engineering. He joined Monash in 2014 as a founding academic staff member and has contributed significantly to curriculum design and research in structural materials and infrastructure. He holds a PhD in Structural Engineering and a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering.
Research Interests: His work focuses on geopolymer science, sustainable cement materials, fire engineering, infrastructure management, climate change vulnerability, self-healing pavements, and digital sustainability. His research is supported by grants totaling ~USD 350,000 and involves collaborations with local governments, industry partners, and international institutions.
Teaching Commitments: Daniel teaches courses such as ENG1011 (Engineering Methods), CIV3294 (Structural Design), and supervises final-year projects. He serves as Course Director, overseeing program accreditation and academic quality.
